The comedy shows Sir John Falstaff trying to make love to two honest housewives in the town of Windsor. He ends up as the victim of tricks that the women play on him.
Of course, the Elizabethan Era being the time of Shakespeare, going to the theatre was always an option. Attending the most well-known, The Globe Theatre was an adventure in itself. Many of Shakespeare's plays (he acted in some of them) were performed at this magnificient theatre.
This is a handout I found when I first started teaching (ages ago!). It was in fairly poor shape, so I recreated it on my computer. I've long since lost the original, but I present it here with thanks to its originator!
