The Department of Communication of the University of Ottawa offers a Master of Arts (MA) in Communication degree with thesis or with research paper.
The University of South Florida has a Graduate Certificate in Statistical Data Analysis that is designed for professionals working in fields such as medicine, biological sciences, engineering, or business who need the skills to design experiments, analyze data, or otherwise interpret numerical information. This is a 15-credit certificate that requires students to complete four classes and an independent study. Classes are offered at the Tampa campus, and students should be able to finish the work for the certificate in five semesters. Up to 12 credits from this certificate may be eligible to be applied to a graduate degree. Applicants must have a bachelor's degree with a GPA and must submit GRE scores. There are no prerequisites.

Master of Science is generally abbreviated . or MS in countries following United States usage and MSc in countries following British usage, where MS would refer to the degree of Master of Surgery . In Australia, some extended master's degrees use the title "doctor": Juris doctor and Doctors of Medical Practice, Physiotherapy, Dentistry, Optometry and Veterinary Practice. Despite their titles these are still master's degree and may not be referred to as doctoral degrees, nor may graduates use the title "doctor".
